(Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research)

The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan is an integral part of the infrastructure of social science research. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, and offers training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use. Faculty, students and staff on the Yale network may download data directly from ICPSR. ICPSR maintains a data archive of more than 500,000 files of research in the social sciences. It hosts 16 specialized collections of data in education, aging, criminal justice, substance abuse, terrorism, and other fields.
