Bio:

I've been a reference librarian at YLS since 2011. In my current position, I provide research help and instruction to YLS students, faculty, and staff. Like my colleagues, I'm happy to take a shot at just about any research question you might encounter while at YLS. So please don't hesitate to ask. I'm particularly interested in legislative history, regulatory research, disability law and environmental law. I also teach a one-credit course, Corporate Legal Research, usually in the spring semester.

Before coming to Yale, I held a number of positions, including Research Services manager at a DC law firm, advocate for people with disabilities, house painter on Martha's Vineyard, organic farm intern, school painter, warehouse-worker, bus boy, paper boy. In one way or another, they all inform my current work.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: If you would like to talk about your research, I'll be available Monday through Friday via Zoom. Please send me an email (michael.vanderheijden@yale.edu) with both a short description of your project and a few proposed times that work for you. The link to my temporary Zoom office is https://yale.zoom.us/my/mikevdh. Thank you.
