Library Space Utilization
The Lillian Goldman Law Library is implementing occupancy monitoring technology (utilization sensors), which will provide data about how spaces are being used. The sensors will not track or identify individuals or capture personally identifiable information. Occuspace sensors estimate room occupancy by detecting Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signal activity from electronic devices (e.g., laptops and phones).
The Occuspace system:
- Does not collect or know any names, phone numbers, emails, addresses or other personal information.
- Does not track people.
- Does not monitor the movement of a person from one location to another.
- Does not enable individually targeted marketing and advertising.
- Does not connect to any personal device.
- Does not report specific seats or individual office occupancy.
The Occuspace technology undergoes regular third-party security reviews and has been vetted by Yale’s IT department. For more details, visit Occuspace's Privacy Policy.
We appreciate your support in this initiative! If you have any questions, please contact Law Library Administration at ylslib@yale.edu.
By making strategic decisions about our space, we can ensure our library is positioned for long-term success.
