The unsophisticated working class Kerrigan family own a modest house in a neighborhood next to Melbourne airport. Although the house is on a toxic landfill, beneath industrial power lines, and adjacent to the airport's runway, they believe that they are living in the lap of luxury. One day, the Kerrigans and their neighbors receive a letter informing them of the compulsory acquisition of their houses to allow for the expansion of the airport. Believing that the government cannot unwillingly evict him from his treasured home, Darryl Kerrigan attempts to fight the eviction. Despite bribes and bullying from airport agent, the Kerrigans do not relinquish their “castle.” Darryl takes his fight to save the community's houses to court, a  battle that will lead him on an unusual journey all the way to the
