CURRICULUM

Four-Week Sessions

An immersive learning experience unlike anything else, our four-week sessions allow you to focus on developing new methodological tools while building a community of friends, collaborators, mentors, and future colleagues. Our four-week courses cover introductory, intermediary, and advanced instruction in almost every area of methodology. Our four-week sessions also feature supplemental lectures and talks on important professional topics, such as data reproducibility, research transparency, and methodological issues related to the study of race, ethnicity, and gender. Our four-week sessions take place in Ann Arbor, Michigan; in 2019, the First Session runs from June 24 to July 19, and the Second Session runs from July 22 to August 16.

Short Workshops

For those wanting to learn a specific methodological technique in just a few days, the ICPSR Summer Program will offer more than 40 short workshops from May through August in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and other cities around the world. The 2019 short workshop schedule includes a wide range of courses, from introductory-level material to advanced, cutting-edge statistical techniques, as well as workshops on machine learning, qualitative and mixed methods, data science and data management, and more topics.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Most ICPSR scholarships provide a registration fee waiver for the Summer Program’s four-week sessions. Also, in 2019, ICPSR has expanded its Diversity Scholarships to cover incoming and continuing graduate students from under-represented groups. The application deadline for all 2019 ICPSR scholarships is Sunday, March 31, 2019.
