Barnard College has opened a capsule installation of "Twins on the Bench," a Lillian Goldman Law Library 2023 exhibit celebrating the unveiling of a Yale Law School portrait of twin siblings George Bundy Smith ('62) and Inez Smith Reid ('62).  The installation features the work of Ashlynn Smith, including the original of her "Initial Study towards Twins on the Bench."  Curated by Shana Jackson with Kathryn James, the installation draws particular attention to the work of Inez Smith Reid as academic and mentor to generations of students, including those taught by her at Barnard College.

"Twins on the Bench" draws on the extensive archives kept by George Bundy Smith and Inez Smith Reid, as well as papers held by the family.   The papers of George Bundy Smith have been processed and can be consulted in Yale University Library's Manuscripts and Archives Department.

The installation will be on view at Barnard College through June 28, 2024.
