Yale Law Librarian edits The New Yale Book of Quotations

Yale Book of Quotations coverFred Shapiro, Associate Director for Collections and Special Projects at the Lillian Goldman Law Library at Yale Law School, has produced a revised and expanded edition of his classic book of quotations.



The New Yale Book of Quotations, edited by Shapiro, includes a new foreword by Louis Menand. According to publisher Yale University Press, this is a “revised, enlarged and updated”  edition of the original Yale Book of Quotations, containing over one thousand new quotations.



This extensively researched edition has also led to updated existing quotations with more accurate wording an attribution and revealed the enhanced role women have played in the originatioin of many familiar quotations.



The New Yale Book of Quotations is published by Yale University Press and available on August 31.
