Fred Shapiro

Fred Shapiro, recently retired from his role as Associate Director for Collections and continues to provide research support as needed at the Lillian Goldman Law Library. He is knowledgeable about legal bibliography and the history of Yale Law School. As a scholar and editor, he has compiled the New Yale Book of Quotations, the Oxford Dictionary of American Legal Quotations, and numerous other publications. He is the leading contributor to the Oxford English Dictionary and provides the historical information to Black's Law Dictionary.
