Global Women’s Leadership Project - UN Women’s Family Law Database (U Penn)
The GWLP is one of the first efforts to map the panoramic sweep of laws that regulate a woman’s role in the family and society. The first phase of the database covers the 54 African countries; the 19 civil law countries in Latin America* and 32 states of Mexico; the 51 independent states of Europe; Israel; India; and Pakistan. This 2014 report surveys the apostasy laws of twenty-three countries in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia and primarily focuses on jurisdictions that make apostasy, or renouncing one’s religion, a capital offense. However, several countries that have adopted broadly-defined laws on blasphemy and insult to religion, which could potentially be used to prosecute persons for apostasy, have also been included, as well as one country that expressly prohibits extrajudicial punishment for allegations of apostasy.
 
 
 
 
LC Guide - Personal Status Laws in Selected Arab Jurisdictions
The 2015 guide identifies personal status laws and related materials in a number of Arab countries, including Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar, Syria, and Tunisia, as well as the personal status law applicable in those territories that are governed by the Palestinian Authority.
